I am passionate about early intervention and experienced in working collaboratively to help create happier stronger families. How we work together depends on your family, the specific challenges you are facing and your goals for change.
I offer services in the following areas:
Perinatal Referrals
During pregnancy and the first year of your child’s life a lot is changing, and this can be a good time to seek support for difficulties you or your parenting partner may be experiencing such as worry and anxiety, changes in mood, or adjustment to early parenting.
Child Mental Health
Early identification and intervention for mental health challenges in childhood offers lifelong benefits. Many mental health difficulties first emerging as early as the preschool years. Seeking help for concerns such as anxiety, mood changes or challenging behaviours can be an important step in supporting your child’s positive social and emotional development.
Parenting and Family Support
Many people describe parenting as their most rewarding and important role in life. However, this doesn’t mean it is always easy or enjoyable. Parenting can bring many challenges, stress, exhaustion and even feelings of isolation or shame. Therapy offers parents the chance for dedicated time and mental space to reflect on your needs in your parenting journey, and an opportunity to work together with an experienced professional to develop skills and practices to help you create the family relationships you are looking for.

What to expect
Prior to your first session:
Once you’ve got in touch, you will be contacted to arrange a suitable appointment time and emailed a link for completing a registration form. This form will outline details related to fees, privacy and confidentiality, and storage to/access of your information. This form will also request your contact information, credit card details used for payment, and have an option to include details for Medicare/private health insurance. This form needs to be completed in advance of your first session.
Initial Appointment:
Your initial appointment will typically involve an assessment process during which we will develop a shared understanding of areas you would like help with, what has been concerning you and your goals for treatment. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy or your experiences. The better I can understand your experiences and the more empowered you feel in the process of therapy, the easier it is for us to identify the most appropriate treatment plan going forward.
Note: If you are seeking services for a child in your care, or for parenting or family support, please get in touch to discuss over the phone the most appropriate plan for an initial appointment and who will attend.
Ongoing sessions:
Further sessions are generally booked in advance at regularly intervals. This will be discussed during your initial appointment. Everybody is different and therefore the number and frequency of sessions recommended can vary between individuals and over time.
A standard session is 50 minutes in duration, longer (90 minute) sessions are available upon request and may be recommended for initial appointments where there are several areas of concern. If you are unsure what is the most appropriate duration for you, please get in touch to discuss this prior to booking your first appointment.
